On analyse la validité du dépistage du cancer de la prostate par dosage de la PSA (prostatic specific antigen). Ce dosage est réalisé chez 15 patients: 9 malades et 6 sains. Les résultats suivants sont obtenus (dosage de la PSA exprimé en ng/ml):

  • malades: 2,7 – 3,0 – 4,0 – 4,6 – 5,4 – 5,5 – 6,4 – 8,2 – 10,1
  • sains: 0,7 – 1,2 – 1,5 – 3,8 – 5,1 – 6,2

Déterminer la validité de ce test de dépistage du cancer de la prostate au moyen du calcul de la surface sous la courbe ROC. Que signifie la valeur obtenue ?
